San Francisco Automotive Solutions

I've been going to San Francisco Automotive Solutions for five years and highly recommend them. I've always been satisifed with the estimates and the work they perfomed. This is a business that you can have confidence in and I know that they work hard to keep that confidence.

My Subaru Legacy GT had severely warped rotors after a mere 30K miles and and I had brought my car to San Francisco Automotive Solutions as I assumed the rotors were bad, considering the low mileage on my car and how I have been very mindful about checking the brake pad thickness. After verifying the rotors were in fact warped, Pat explained how this is very common with Japanese performance cars because of how the rotors are engineered to be light for fuel economy and therefore marketing greenwashing rather than for longevity. When I consider the energy required to make steel I shudder to think how someone who purports to be eco-minded would make this call, but I digress. After replacing them with better grade but still reasonably priced rotors I found that after 9 months they were already starting to warble and I brought the car back assuming they had already warped. Sigh. Much to my surprise, He replaced them with the more expensive rotors that had features to help better prevent the warping in the future, and only charged me the difference in the part price! This is the kind of treatment that has kept me a customer of AAA for over 6 years and through 2 cars. I would stick my neck out to say this is a great shop with skilled and trustworthy people and that Pat is a man of integrity and runs his shop in kind.

i needed a smog check and i knew my car would pass with flying colors but i still had to do my due diligence on yelp to find a legit shop. i was warned about smog check places who'll lie & cheat their way to scam $60+ (and not include the smog cert) for a smog check so i called around for price quotes and found San Francisco Automotive Solutions. he promised the smog check w/ cert for $49.95 so i dropped off the car shortly after. it's not the cheapest i found but it was convenient. the cheapest shop had some shady reviews so i decided to save myself from the headache and paid the extra $9.95. i was told the smog check would take about 15 minutes so i went around the corner to whole foods and picked up a sandwich. i ate and waited at the shop. it took longer than 15 mins but definitely under 30, which was fine. overall, it was good cuz the guy was nice and honest about the total cost.

I brought my Nissan in because the AC wasn't blowing cold; it had been topped off last season elsewhere. I was a little leary from the couple of poor reviews but location was important to me. My opinion is there will always be someone who hates you on Yelp even if you're good most of the time. So I put my faith in the good reviews and headed in.My experience was similar to the other good reviews. Patrick was professional and made sure to explain things well. My work was done in a day and came with a 12 month warrantee

a bit expensive, but everything goes right. And there's a Peet's coffee around the corner on 4th st to spend your time at.

I have been going to San Francisco Automotive Solutions since the mid 80s, first with my 1974 Malibu and now with a 1989 Nissan. I trust them completely. Their repair work is always effective and they have a knack for explaining what is needed and why in understandable terms. I recommend them to all my friends.

My radiator blew on 101 on Thursday night and I rolled my BMW into the shop around 5:30pm and they had it replaced by the end of the day Friday. Because I live in Danville I couldn't make it to the shop by closing time and they aren't open on weekends. However, Jerry called me Saturday and told me he was in the shop and that he would wait for me to pick up my car. Now that it great service. I will take my car back to them whenever I have a problem even though they are 25 miles away. Highly recommended!

Pat at San Francisco Automotive Solutions and his staff are great and know how to fix anything on cars. I am very impressed with their professionalism and care.

very cool guys who will actually work on a 1968 firebird and go out of their way to get it right. call them "caregivers" - nice.
